One of the things the United Cardinal Bloggers are known for is their roundtables.  A question gets passed around via e-mail, everyone weighs in, and then the transcript gets posted on the questioner’s blog the next day.

The preseason roundtable always seems to be the biggest, and this year is no exception.  Seventeen of the UCB members–including our newest, Intangiball–(late edit: Fredbird Follys got into the game, so it’s 18!) will be discussing the Cardinals and the game of baseball for the next few weeks.  Links to the transcripts will be added here when they go up, but plan your internet browsing around these sites in the coming days!  (Date is the day the question is posed, so check a day or so after for the transcript.)

Last year, the UCB was contacted by Derrick Goold for a little help on a project of his, ranking the top 7 prospects in the Cardinal organization.

We liked doing it so much we stole the idea right from under his nose.  (OK, he knew about it and will be doing his summary after the Cards are done playing this year.)  Below, you can find the links to everyone that is participating and a table is provided to give a summary of the picks.  Keep checking back as more entries are posted.

Note: Most of these rankings were done before the news came down about Wagner Mateo’s potential eye issue, so keep that in mind.

Before this mighty group of talented bloggers you see before you became that vaunted organization called United Cardinal Bloggers, we were Cardinal fans.  Part of the great aspect of any fandom are the memories that you have of watching your team.  Whether it’s a momentous occasion, such as where you were when Mark McGwire hit #62, or something more personal, like your first visit to Busch, those memories stay with you forever.

This month, the UCB will be sharing some of those personal memories with you.  On Friday, June 26, participating blogs will post their remembrances of games and players and teams gone by.  Some may be funny, some may be poignant, but all will be important, at least to us.  We invite you to share in our walk down Memory Lane.

This post will be edited as the entries are posted, so come back during the day to see who is posting and relieve some of your own Cardinal memories as well.

On Saturday, May 23, the UCB will sponsor their second annual Progressive Game Blog as the Cardinals take on the Kansas City Royals.

Fashioned after a progressive dinner, each participating blog describes the action of one inning of Saturday’s game.  Since this is not a live blog, it gives the blogger an opportunity to elaborate on the action, bringing in statistical information, personal anecdotes or anything else to help the action come alive for the reader.  It’s like watching the same game through nine different eyes.
